Maarten Cornelis Hofstede was christened in Woubrugge on 
10 March 1737.  He died in Moordrecht on 28 October 1775. On 5 February 1762 he married
with Aaltje de Vos.  Aaltje was christened in Zuid-Waddinxveen on 1 January 1741, daughter
Daniel Willems de Vos and Maria Jans Radder.  From information supplied by Marina G.
Hofstede it appears that Aaltje de Vos, widow of M. Hofstee, was born in Zuid-Waddinxveen on
22 December 1738, but there is no child born to a de Vos on that date in Waddinxveen.  This
same census also has the dates of Aaltje's son and daughter-in-law incorrect.  Most of the
following information has been supplied by Marina G. (Ineke) Hofstede and she is still looking
for more information.  The family of Maarten Cornelis and Aaltje must have been quite
well-to-do because when Maarten was buried in Moordrecht it is noted that both bells tolled once
at a cost of F9.17.0 and for his daughter Maria, both bells, twice at a cost of F12.2.0.

    She married on 15 December 1782 with Ary van Vlaardingen.

5. Daniel, c. Woubrugge 16 November 1768.
6. Jan, c. Gouda 3 March 1771.  He died in Moordrecht on30 March 1771.
7. Teuntje, c. Gouda 5 October 1772.  She married on 10 May 1795 in Moordrecht with Jan 
    Giesken.
8. Jan, c. Moordrecht 2 October 1774.  He died there on 17 December 1774.
9. Maarten, c. Moordrecht 17 December 1775.  He died there on 10 May 1776.


Cornelis Maartens Hofstede was baptized on 1 March 1767 in
Woubrugge.  He died on 16 December 1842 in Woubrugge.  Cornelis married with Maartje
Admiraal who was baptized in Nieuwe Wetering on 9 April 1767.  She was daughter of Cornelis
Admiraal and Marijtje van Leeuwen.  A census of Delft gives the birth date of Cornelis as 23
February 1763 and of Maartje as 12 April 1763.  Cornelis lived in Delft until 1838 when he
returned to Woubrugge.  He lived and died in the 'bejaardentehuis', home for the aged at C15. 
His death registration indicates the name of his wife as Aaltje Admiraal.  The birth of his
children indicates mother's name is Maartje.  At the time of Maartje's death on 20 March 1831 in
Delft, Cornelis is a shipbuilder's hand (Scheeptimmermansknecht).  When son Maarten was born
the family resides on the Molenstraat.

Maarten Cornelis Hofstede was born in Delft on 16 February 1805. 
Maarten was a shipbuilder carpenter.  In 1844 he is listed as a hod-carrier (sjouwer).  He died in
Hoorn 24 June 1864.  On 13 March 1833 he married in Delft with Alida Maria van der Smaal
(Smael). Alida was born 28 November 1800 in Delft, daughter of Jacobus van der Smael and
Alida de Heij.  Maarten and Alida lived at Delfstraat 355 in Delft.  On 23 July 1844 they lived in
Rotterdam on the Jan Arensgang C170 and on 31 July 1844 on the Schiedamschendijk at number
C150.  Maarten moved to Hoorn on 28 October 1862.  Alida died in Rotterdam on 11 March
1885.

Martinus Gerardus Hofstede was born on 22 January 1835 in Delft.  He
was a cooperage hand.  He died in Rotterdam  on 18 November 1865.  He married on 12 October
1859 in Delft with Maria Elisabeth Sanders,  born in Kralingen on 10 July 1830.  She is the
daughter of Casper Sanders and Geertruyda Brons.  Maria Elisabeth remarries on 3 December
1873 with Jacobus Hendricus Fischer.  Maria Elisabeth died  in Rotterdam on 17 September
1905.

Martinus Jacobus Hofstede married on 12 May 1886 with Helena Maria
Kolsteren, born in Rotterdam on 17 February 1860, daughter of Bernardus Kolsteren (mason)
and Wilhelmina Maria Blauw.  Martinus and Helena Maria lived at Nieuwekerkstraat 25 in
Rotterdam.  Martinus died in Rotterdam on 15 March 1945.  Helena Maria died in Rotterdam on
8 May 1927.

    6 August 1891.
2. Bernardus Hermanus Hofstede, b. Rotterdam 16 July 1888.  Bernardus died in Rotterdam on 
    8 September 1967.  He married in Rotterdam on 24 December 1918 with Marina Gertruida
    Harpenslager.  They had 7 children.
3. Martinus Gerardus Jacobus Hofstede, b. Rotterdam 17 March 1890.   He married in Rotterdam 
    on 14 May 1913 with Cornelia Maria Arnolda Koekebakker.  She was born in Rotterdam on 
    29 April 1892.    They had 11 children.
4. Adrianus Johannes Hofstede, b. Rotterdam 19 January 1892.  He died in Rotterdam on 
    10 December 1963.  He married in Rotterdam on 22 December 1915 with Christina Frenk,
     born in Rotterdam on 11 July 1894.  They had 3 children.
5. Maria Elizabeth Jacoba Hofstede, b. Rotterdam 29 June 1893.    She married in Rotterdam on
    19 August 1914 with Pieter Waaijer. 
6. Wilhelmus Marie Hofstede, b. Rotterdam 27 August 1898.  He married in Rotterdam on
    18 January 1922 with Trijntje Barendina van der Vooren.    They have two children - Martinus
    Jacobus and Barendina Helena.  Wilhelmus Marie died in Rotterdam on 21 April 1980.
7. A still-born daughter, Rotterdam 3 August 1900.
8. Johannes M. Hofstede, b. Rotterdam 25 January 1903.  He died in Rotterdam on 19 September
    1903.


Gerardus Jacobus Hofstede was born in Rotterdam in 1837.  He married
in Rotterdam on 14 May 1862 with Petronella Josephina Brandenburg who was born in
Rotterdam on 27 September 1840.  She was the daughter of Jan Brandenburg and Dina de Bruin.
Gerardus Jacobus died in Rotterdam on 17 October 1896.  Petronella Josephina died in
Rotterdam on 1 August 1895.  Gerardus Jacobus died in Rotterdam on 17 October 1896.

    1900 with Margaretha Maria van Zijl, from Rotterdam.
8. Gerardus Jacobus, b. Rotterdam 17 October 1874.  He married in Rotterdam on 8 August 1900
    with Margaretha Maria de Wilt, from Delfshaven.
9. Johannes, b. Rotterdam 16 May 1877.
10. Dina, b. Rotterdam 1 August 1879.  She died in Rotterdam on 11 January 1943.  She married  
     in Rotterdam on 28 November 1906 with Willem Hendrikse.   Willem was born in      
Middelburg on 24 December 1879.
11. Alida Maria, b. Rotterdam 5 March 1882.  She died there on 7 April 1882.   

Petrus Hendrikus Franciscus Hofstede was born in Rotterdam on 19 January
1871.  He married in Rotterdam on 1 August 1894 with Uranie Leonie Sophie van Rietschoten,
born on 16 August 1870 in  's-Hertogenbosch,  daughter of Isaac Anthonie van Rietschoten and
Adeline Josephina  Serafina van Dort.  Petrus Hendrikus Franciscus remarried in Rotterdam on
12 October 1921with Maria Geertruida Petronella Groot, born Alkmaar 16 January 1869.

Daniel Hofstede was christened in Woubrugge on 16 November 1768.  He
died in Rotterdam on 3 November 1824 at age 56.  He was first married to Adriana Starrenburg
on 29 April 1798 in Vlaardingen.  On 13 November 1811 he married in Rotterdam with
Catharina Sterkman.  Daniel and Catharina lived at Hoogstraat L264.  Kaatje died in Rotterdam
on 19 January 1860.
