My name is Anthony Hofstee.
I was born in the Netherlands and moved to Canada at age 5. My parents and my three brothers came to Canada to have a better future. In this my parents had success as all four sons did very well for themselves. Before I retired I was a High School teacher of French and occasionally German. My hobbies include music, stamp collecting and genealogy. My wife and I
and all four of our children enjoy music. However my passion is genealogy. For over 30 years I have done extensive research on my wife's family (Neef) and also on my own. At present I am helping several people with their family search as well. That means a lot of the families listed below are
not related to me except perhaps in the 23rd generation or further back.
It is the beginning of December. The Christmas lights have been up outside and inside my wife has set up her Christmas village. We had wonderful holiday in October/November. We drove from here all the way to St. John's in Newfoundland. We had excellent weather. What a beautiful country Canada is. The trees were in full colour, all the green leaves had changed to orange, red, yellow and shades in between. Health-wise I am doing relatively well. My knee has been giving me some trouble and I may need a knee replacement in the near future. Otherwise I am OK. The specialists and my family take good care of me. Genealogy still occupies a lot of my time. I am still busy updating all my files on my website, it is however a slow process.
